Balanitis is inflammation between the glans penis and foreskin. If you suffer from balanitis, the symptoms may not be cured for several days to weeks if you do not seek medical treatment. this disease comes under the male reproductive system.
Symptoms of Balanitis
- The foreskin is swollen and there is pus oozing from under the foreskin.
- The penis may feel painful or burning during urination.
Cause of Balanitis
- The foreskin is not clean.
- If a boy’s foreskin is too long and cannot be turned up, dirt or clothing fibers can be hidden between the foreskin and the glans penis, causing inflammation.
- It may be caused by diabetes.
Home care
- Wash the affected area.
- Take a break from having sex. (Note: Sometimes there is moist material on the head of a young child’s penis. This is not necessarily a disease, and should not be forcibly wiped dry to avoid damage to the young skin.)
Treatment
The doctor will instruct the patient on how to keep the penis clean and treat it with antibiotics.
Prevention
- Adults should ensure that their penis is clean and hygienic.
